Privacy Policy
This policy explains what SkillBoost collects, why, and what you can do about it. It describes how the service actually works today, not how it might work later.

Who we are
SkillBoost is an online English learning service, available as a website and as an iOS application. Throughout this policy, "SkillBoost", "we" and "us" mean the operator of that service.
If you have a question about anything here, write to support@skillboost.tj.
What we collect, and when
We only ask for information at the point where the service needs it. Nothing on this list is gathered in the background.
When you register for the Free Intro Webinar we ask for your name, email address and phone number, and we record that you agreed to this policy. You may also add a WhatsApp number, a Telegram username and a preferred language if you want us to contact you that way.
When you apply for the Full SkillBoost Express Course or the Reading Course we ask for the same contact details, and additionally for the name of the identity document holder and photographs of the front and back of an identity document. This is how we confirm that the person receiving paid course access is the person who applied. You may also upload a profile photograph.
As you study, the service records which lessons you have opened and completed, your test and quiz attempts, and your scores and progress. This is what makes your course work.
If you send a message through the in-app support or chat screens, we store that message so it can be read and answered.
Your account itself carries an account identifier, your email address, your role and your account status.
What we do not collect
The SkillBoost app contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting software of any kind. We do not build an advertising profile of you, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your information with data brokers.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your calendar, your health data, or your financial account details.
We do not process payments inside the app, so we never see or hold your card details.
Why we use your information
To create and operate your account and keep you signed in.
To decide which courses and lessons you are entitled to open.
To deliver lessons, videos, exercises and tests, and to record your progress.
To review applications for paid courses, including confirming identity where an identity document is required.
To answer you when you contact support.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal effects.
Identity documents
Identity document photographs are only requested for paid course applications. The Free Intro Webinar never asks for them.
They are uploaded to a private storage area, are visible only to SkillBoost staff who review applications, and are used solely to verify the applicant. They are not published, not shared with other students, and not used for any other purpose.
If you would prefer not to provide an identity document, you can still register for the Free Intro Webinar; you will not be able to complete a paid course application without it.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of service providers to run SkillBoost. They process information on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms.
Supabase provides our database, account authentication and file storage. Your account, profile, course records and uploaded files are stored there.
Vercel hosts the SkillBoost website and its server functions, and processes the network requests your browser or app makes to us.
Apple distributes the iOS application and provides the operating system services it runs on.
That is the complete list of providers that receive information about you. We do not use any other third party for analytics, advertising, messaging or profiling.
Security
Traffic between your device and SkillBoost travels over HTTPS. Files and database records are held by our providers on their managed infrastructure, which encrypts data at rest.
Access to student records and uploaded documents is restricted by database access rules and by staff role, so a student account can only read its own data.
No online service can promise perfect security, and we do not. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will act on it and inform you where we are required to.
How long we keep things
We keep your account and study records for as long as your account exists, because they are what your course consists of.
We do not currently operate a fixed automatic deletion schedule. If you want your information removed sooner, delete your account or write to us — see the next section.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app: open Profile, choose Delete account, and confirm. There is no need to email us and no need to visit a separate website.
Deleting your account removes your profile, your contact details, your enrolments and applications, your lesson progress, your test and quiz attempts, your messages, and any identity documents or photographs you uploaded. Your sign-in credentials are removed, and you are signed out immediately.
Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account, and course progress cannot be recovered afterwards.
You can also ask us to delete your account by writing to support@skillboost.tj from the address on the account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
You can edit most of your own contact details directly in your profile.
You can withdraw your consent by deleting your account, which removes the information described above.
To make any of these requests, write to support@skillboost.tj from the email address on your account so that we can be sure it is you.
Children
SkillBoost is intended for adult learners and for teenage students studying with the agreement of a parent or guardian. Where a student indicates they are under the age of majority, the application asks for confirmation that a parent or guardian agrees.
We do not knowingly collect information from young children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
Where your information is processed
Our providers operate infrastructure in a number of countries, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in. It remains subject to this policy wherever it is held.
Changes to this policy
If we change how SkillBoost handles information, we will update this page and change the date shown at the top. Significant changes will be brought to your attention in the app.
